We are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Occupational Health Advisor to join a growing and supportive Occupational Health and Wellbeing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Occupational Health professional to play a key role in delivering a high-quality, proactive service, supporting employees with their health and wellbeing while providing managers with clear, professional and evidence-based advice.

The Role

Working as part of a multidisciplinary Occupational Health and Wellbeing team, you will provide a comprehensive range of services, including case management, health assessments, medicals, health surveillance and health promotion.

You will work closely with employees and management, providing practical advice and recommendations to support health, attendance, rehabilitation and a safe and productive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive Occupational Health assessments and management referrals.
  • Provide professional advice relating to fitness for work, attendance, rehabilitation and workplace adjustments.
  • Undertake pre-employment and new starter medical assessments.
  • Deliver health surveillance and other Occupational Health assessments.
  • Conduct drug and alcohol testing where required.
  • Provide clear, concise and evidence-based Occupational Health reports.
  • Support employees experiencing a range of physical and psychological health conditions.
  • Provide advice and support around mental health, wellbeing and health promotion.
  • Carry out appropriate assessments and provide recommendations to help employees remain at work or return safely following periods of absence.
  • Work collaboratively with managers, HR and other stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Contribute to the development of Occupational Health and employee wellbeing initiatives.
  • Provide support and guidance to colleagues within the wider Occupational Health team.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records in accordance with professional and data protection requirements.
  • Work autonomously while contributing positively to a wider team environment.

About You

We are looking for a confident, compassionate and proactive Occupational Health professional who is passionate about making a positive difference to employee health and wellbeing.

You will ideally have:

  • Current NMC registration.
  • At least 3 years' post-registration nursing experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years' Occupational Health experience.
  • Strong experience in Occupational Health case management.
  • Experience conducting health assessments and medicals.
  • Knowledge and experience of supporting mental health and wellbeing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to provide clear, professional and evidence-based advice.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • The confidence to work independently and manage your own caseload.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to build effective relationships with employees, managers and key stakeholders.

Desirable

The following would be advantageous:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health.
  • Experience with MSK assessments.
  • Experience delivering health surveillance.
  • Experience with drug and alcohol testing.
  • Experience working within a larger corporate or multi-site Occupational Health environment.
  • Additional Occupational Health or wellbeing qualifications.
